Grade A Drawer Sides
Maximum knot size is 25mm diameter. Fleck or mineral streak is allowed and the size of either shall not more than 70mm in length x 2.5mm in width. Color must be reasonably matched. The diameter of dead knots should not bigger than 3mm in diameter and only two such dead knots are allowed.
Grade B Drawer Sides
All live knots allowed in any size. The size of the dead knots shall not be more than 6 mm in diameter and a maximum of three such dead knots will be allowed. Small areas of repair will be allowed on the surface. Color will be reasonably matched. Two areas of mineral streak (fleck) not bigger than 80mm(L) x 3mm(W) are allowed.
Grade C Drawer Sides
Live knots are allowed, and the tight dead knots are also allowed if repaired with glue to safely secure the knots. Color is not a defect. Fleck and the mineral streak are allowed. Well colour-matched putty repairs are allowed provided that there are not more than three repairs per 400mm in length.
